True, sanitation has always been crucial—it was only last December that a study by the U.K.’s Aston University, highlighted in Forbes, found that nine out of 10 “opened, in-use products” were “contaminated with potentially dangerous bacteria such as E. coli and staphylococci.” Blending sponges proved to be the worst offenders; left damp, they create the ideal environment for bacteria to multiply.
